The Penn State vs. Michigan State Blood Drive Challenge has reached it’s third week! Right now, after taking a commanding 336-184 lead, Penn State’s lead has begun to shrink just a bit, as of Monday with Penn State leading 493-395. Keep up the great work donating and volunteering to give blood. We all have to give it our all for this last push to win the contest! If you or anyone that you know can or will give blood, please try to get them to donate over the next few weeks to help our total so we can take home our third consecutive win over MSU! Thank you to our sponsors for helping us to help others in our community and around the country. Also, giving blood is a great way to commemorate Veteran’s day, which just passed, to honor those who have fallen in the line of duty. Appointments to give blood can be made by using the Red Cross Blood Donor App, visiting redcrossblood.org or calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).
The Red Cross offers a program called the Hero-Care Network. It is a program dedicated to connecting service members, veterans and their families to the assistance that they need 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year through the website or by phone. This program is made available so that if an emergency were to arise, they could look on the app, website, or call to receive immediate assistance deciding the right place to visit to receive help with this emergency.
In other news, after the first week of the PSU-MSU Blood Drive Challenge, Penn State leads 171 to 81 units over Michigan State. Keep up the great work! There will be drives all week in Pasquerilla Spiritual Center on Monday, Hintz Alumni Center on Tuesday, Millennium Science Complex on Wednesday, Waring Commons on Thursday, and Innovation Park on Friday. Please consider donating to help patients around the country as well as your school! Appointments to give blood can be made by using the Red Cross Blood Donor App, visiting redcrossblood.org or calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).
