This year, we are working with the Centre Communities American Red Cross chapter to bring health and safety education to elementary schools in Centre County. There are three programs that the American Red Cross offers:
Scrubby Bear: This program teaches personal hygiene to children in kindergarten and first grade.
FACT (First Aid for Children Today): This course teaches children in second and third grade about how to manage their own health and safety and the health of the environment around them.
BAT (Basic Aid Training): This program introduces students in fourth and fifth grade to actual health and safety predicaments and how to handle them at the most basic level.
